ABOUT US

HBCU Information Network

The HBCU Information Network (HBCUIn) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation aimed at educating high school students on attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as well as their ongoing purpose within the community and continual economic impact of their student body, both past and present.

HBCUIn will provide a wide range of categories including, but not limited to business, careers, finance, sports, health & fitness, education, and travel. The programs that will take place within the community will give the HBCU Information Network an advantage over other social networks. Some of the community programs will include Career Champion, Financial Fitness, FAFSA Drive, and Youth Initiative.

Although there are 105 Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the United States that our corporation could serve, we will only be focused on specific geographic locations during the corporation's start-up. However this will provide us with numerous opportunities in years to come. The target start-up geographical areas included Atlanta, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami focusing on three distinct markets; college prospects, college students, and HBCU alumni.

The direction and focus of HBCUIn will be determined by the Board of Directors ((Fields - President, Johnson - Vice President, Wright - Treasure, LeCount - Secretary). The key individuals under the Board of Directors include the Executive Director, Director of Accounting and Finance, Director of Graphics/Web Designer, Director of Marketing and Communications, Director of Fundraising, Volunteer and Program Coordinator, and Volunteers.

The sources of funding for the corporation will stream from a combination of the following: federal, state, and community grants; sponsorships; and standard giving. Other than financial capital, there will be a need for human and land/physical property.

As a new and unique corporation to the online social network industry, there will need to be dedication and consistency in the operations of the corporation. The goal of the HBCU Information Network is to be recognized in the online social network industry as a corporation looking to support and enhance the future of our HBCUs and their communities.
